About

My name is Nora Murphy and I have been working as an evaluation consultant since 2004.  There are a lot of experiences I’ve had that have shaped who I am and the type of evaluator I am today.  I grew up the oldest of 3 children in New Hapmshire and have been somewhat of a wanderer since I left home for college.  I’ve live for short or long stints in Boston, Washington DC, the Berkshires, Pittsburgh, Chicago and now Minneapolis.  I have been an avid backpacker (and still am at heart even though not in practice) spending nearly two years of my life sleeping under the stars in 20 different states.  I am a single mom who has one beautiful son, and lost one son in 2010 when he was 4 to a chronic illness.  I’ve been a high school teacher, a non-profit program manager, a consulatant and a student.

These experiences have shaped me to be an evaluator that valuese the contribuitions and voices of youth and other community members; who values honesty and integrity; who sees relationships at the heart of every matter; and who never thinks that I have the ‘one right answer.’
